Welcome to Bali, welcome to my life. I am Balinese, but from childhood I lived at Jakarta the most busies city in Indonesia, and graduated my medical school there. Medical business is a hard business in big city so decided to begin my medical carrier in Bali about 3 years ago. First time I afraid because I don’t know my own cultures until I am feeling Staying in Bali everyday like Holiday. The atmosphere is so different, makes me I don’t want to get back to Jakarta.

Bali have many great spot to visit, some the famous is:

Kuta

The original surf beach has developed well with top class hotels and restaurants. It’s still ultra busy in the high season. 

Legian-Seminyak-Kerobokan

Spreading now to the west, this is the home of the top-level clubs and restaurants, which have developed into a world-class resource for Bali.

Jimbaran   

The famous beach for its outside barbeque restaurants, but shares its beauty with top hotels and a fishing village with a substantial fleet. 

Nusadua and Tanjung Benoa

These the place of many world-class hotels with a peaceful beach, a delightful shopping enclave, the marvelous Bali golf and country club, and home of Bali water sports. 

Sanur

This is the quiet resort area on the east coast. The beach protected with a coral reef allowing safe swimming and water sports. There are many high quality restaurants, cafés, bars, and shops on the seafront walkway. This are is quieter and enjoyable for shopping. 

Ubud

This is the center of arts and cultures  of Bali, with a quiet street hiding some outstanding villas and resort. There is many major museums and galleries.

Bali the most holiday destination in the worlds. More than four thousands years ago, Bali was an emerald green, tropical rain forest covered the island. The first wave of human arrivals from across the seas brought with them techniques for rice cultivation, new languages and new customs. This Island of Gods is situated approximately on latitude 8° South and longitude 115° East. Bali and the neighboring island of Lombok are the most westerly of the Little Sunda Islands and part of the 13,700 islands that make up Indonesia, the largest archipelago in the world.

The island itself covers an area of 5,632,860 square kilometers, with a volcanic mountain range that stretches from the western tip to the eastern side of the island, with Mountain Agung being the highest peak.

For many centuries, -until today-, Bali has attracted visitors from all over the world. It is so attractive for its colorful ceremonies, natural scenery, and the ever-smiling people. Their colorful religious festivals and ceremonies, the traditional music and dances have been a way of life, and have unwittingly contributed much to the success of tourism here. The Balinese people are predominantly Hindu and their traditional and religious beliefs are as strong today as they ever were.

How to Dive Bali

Most non-diving tourists base themselves in the urban south in Kuta and Sanur. Unfortunately there aren't any good dives nearby and to base yourself here will mean long and uncomfortable daily journeys to the sites by minibus. We recommend you choose a combination of resorts near to the best sites, in the east, the north west and nearby Lembongan Island, to avoid this unnecessary travel. If you must stay in Kuta, you can always do that after your diving break.

Bali Diving Season

The Bali dive season runs all year round. Overall, the best diving conditions exist from April to December, with sunfish, sharks and other pelagic fish visiting from June to September. December to March is rainy season, reducing visibility in the north and northwest - Tulamben, Amed, Gili Selang, Pemuteran and Menjangan. From June to September dry monsoon winds bring rough seas and nutrient rich upwellings to Nusa Penida, Padang Bay and Amuk Bay.

Bali Dive Places

Tulamben

Tulamben is one of the most famous diving areas in Bali. Tulamben Bay, is situated in the world's richest marine biogeographic zone with more than 2500 different species of fish and 700 corals. Situated on the northeast coast, the bay receives very plankton rich water from the major ocean current that moves from the Pacific to the Indian Ocean and vice versa.

Amed

Amed is located on the northeast coast of Bali, about 2.5 hours drive from Kuta. If you stay overnight at Tulamben it will take approximately 20 minutes to drive there. From a landscape point of view, Amed is much prettier than Tulamben. You will see many rice fields along the way, traditional salt-panning and also sandy beaches as opposed to Tulamben's stony beaches. This reef at Amed was discovered as a dive site in 1984. In April and May 1998, it was badly affected by coral bleaching as a result of El Nino down to a depth of 12 metres. The upper reef is slowly recovering, but it is uncertain when it will return to its original splendour. The deeper reef fared better with the gorgonians and corals untouched.

Menjangan

Located in the northwest of Bali, Menjangan Island is part of West Bali National Park, declared in 1982. Entry and diving on the island is controlled by the Park Service. In 1978 Menjangan became Bali's first internationally recognized diving location due to its beautiful flat reef. In 1997 the extensive flat reef at the island suffered damage from crown of thorns starfish, and in again in 1998 from coral bleaching as a result of El Nino. However the walls for which Menjangan is most famous are still in excellent condition. Although the best diving in Menjangan Island is during the southeast monsoon (April to November) you can dive here anytime of the year, choosing sites on the north or south of the island depending on the direction of the wind. The visibility at Menjangan Island can at times be amazing - probably the best in Bali - especially in October and November with horizontal visibility of 50 metres +. Current here is very rare, even 1 knot of current is unusual around the island.

Padang Bai

Padang Bai, 1.5 hours drive from Kuta / Legian, offers some of the best diving in Bali. Sharks are seen on almost every dive, ocean sunfish are regularly spotted, fish life is exceptionally rich, the coral is healthy and the water is crystal clear. Padang Bai dive sites have strong currents and swell coming from the Lombok Strait, creating unpredictable water movements. This is a place to be both careful and respectful!

The South (Sanur and Nusa Dua Reefs)

The South is the tourist centre of Bali and many travellers spend their time in the area of Sanur, Kuta and Nusa Dua. The diving stretches along the front from Sanur to Nusa Dua, with a depth range of 2 -14 metres. If you don't have the time to visit Menjangan or Tulamben then you can consider diving here as an option but the coral and fish life is not that exceptional compared to the other dive sites around Bali.

Nusa Penida

Located 18km east of Sanur. approximately 30 minutes by boat, Nusa Penida offers the best diving to be found in Bali. Most of the dive sites around Nusa Penida and its two small sister islands, Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan, will be drift dives and the current can reach more than 4 knots. Upwellings from the deep water south of Bali keeps the visibility in these areas good but it can also form thermoclines with temperatures dropping down to 22°. Pelagics are the main attraction here and you have a good chance of seeihng jacks, mackerel, tuna, turtles and mantas. Sharks are also common and big mantas are frequently sighted. Perhaps the most unusual pelagic visitor to Nusa Penida is the unique mola mola or ocean sunfish sighted from August to September. This diving at Nusa Penida is suitable for more experienced divers.

How to get there in Bali Island:

Bali is small island, just 140 Km by 80 Km and lies between Java, the most highly populated and influential of all the islands, and Lombok, one of the quieter and moderately slower paced islands. Like many islands, Bali has developed a world of its own. It not only captures what is special about Indonesia but also has a uniqueness of its own.

By Plane: Bali is well connected with rest of the part of the world by air. The tourist can take a flight to the Ngurah Rai international airport or the Denpasar Airport which is located in Denpasar, the capital of Bali. You will get flight from this airport for all the major cities of Indonesia, Asia and Australia.

By Bus: Getting to Bali by bus is a convenient and cheap way of reaching the city. All the areas of the city are easily accessible by bus service. There is Bali Bus Service from Java and Lombok. Bus service is available for airport also.

By Taxi: Travel in Bali in Indonesia is very convenient. One can get around the city by taxi at a slightly higher rate than what the buses charge. Bali Taxi Service are available for transfer from airport.
